Good music/dance places in Minneapolis (MN) area?

I’m attending a college in (south, I think) Minneapolis starting August 22nd, and I was curious to know about some good music/dance places in that area. I’d be especially interested in places/clubs that have techno-type music, and have fancy light things going on, with maybe artificial fog or something. But it could be another type of club, also… And, I’m pretty shy about dancing directly with other people…But its still possible. Maybe a place where you don’t have to always dance? Just give me some ideas.
