Minneapolis night life questions…?

We are planing on heading up that way for a day and do some shopping but would like to hit the party scene later that night. Where is a good place to stay, how is the cab system? We do not want to be driving so a hotel that will not break the bank but is close to the party area would be nice. What places have some of the better drink specials? Where can you find a good dance club? Where are the single girls at?

If you’re looking to shop and go out later (assuming your 21+) a fun and easy way to go is:
1. Find hotel near the Mall of America (MOA). The MOA is 10 minutes from the airport, if you’re flying. Many hotels have a free shuttle from the airport to the hotel-ask them.
2. Shop at the MOA. Again, your hotel may have a free shuttle to the MOA or is in walking distance.
3. Take the Light Rail (train) from the MOA to the Hennepin Avenue Station (last stop). Fares are under $5 round trip and run until about 1:30 AM. DON”T MISS THE LAST ONE-you’ll have to TRY to hail a cab…$45!!
4. Tons of bars off the train. You’d have to check with each bar about their specials and just about every one has a dance floor. Be prepared to pay a cover at each bar-usually no more than $10/bar.

Nightlife usually kicks off after 10PM.
Try Spin or Aqua in Minneapolis for the club scene, if you’re looking for more of a bar scene try Sneaky Petes which is right at the end of the lightrail in downtown. Girl above me gave good advice on where to stay. You’ll pay and arm and a leg downtown
