What is a good location for Salsa Dancing in Minneapolis?

I’m interested in taking salsa dancing and I’ve never done it before! I used to do jazz and ballet but I want something new and SEXY! I’m looking for a “hole in the wall” or “underground” type atmosphere…where it’s very casual and people are just there to have a good time. No partners needed. Very simple as well since I’ve never tried this type of dancing before!

Also if you know of any salsa clubs that would be great!

Feel free to give me a good spot for hip-hop as well! That’s the next one I want to try.

Thanks!!!

Tuesday night is Salsa Night at the Famous Dave’s at the Calhoun Square in Uptown. Check the Famous Dave’s site for specific details. I think if you go and eat there that evening you don’t have to pay anything to get in. Also, my boyfriend and I are taking salsa lessons at Four Seasons Dance – the price is pretty decent and you don’t have to have a partner for the 4 beginner classes. Check out http://www.fourseasonsdance.com. The class begins the first Thursday of every month and should be taken in succession. The instructors would know of good places that have salsa nights. With your dance background, I’m sure you’ll love it!
